4.6 Health Services

Inviting the school health services team to be an active part of the school’s approach to mindfulness is an important stage. A member of the Health Services team on the Project Team would provide access to the health professional’s knowledge, skills and networks which may strengthen the school’s approach. Further, these staff may be able to provide training or support to classroom teachers or be a sounding board for staff that are unsure of the approach.

How it works

Provide ongoing training support for the school's health services team so they can be champions for the school's approach for the whole staff, especially for providing top-up training or training to new staff members

Instructions

Ongoing training and support provided to the Health Services team to continually build their capacity to support the whole-school staff in implementing mindfulness.

How it works

Including the school health services staff on the school's mindfulness committee will add value to the school's approach and ensure the health service staff can adequately support the school's approach and provide referral pathways where required

Instructions

Invite all school health services staff on to the school's mindfulness committee.  If they are unable to join the committee, ensure they are kept up to date with the school's approach.
