What I do at Mindful Meditation Australia

I do all the operational things that keep the wheels turning and the lights on but I also help define and drive the strategic direction of the organisation. Most importantly, I work with the Board of Directors and our team to deliver services that help improve the well-being of our community. It’s really easy to come into work every day.

As operations manager, no two days are the same. Ultimately, I ensure we're aligned with our mission, purpose and goals.

How I got here

It’s been a fascinating journey from Western Missouri to Western Australia. Along the way I’ve accumulated experience across the private and public sectors in several countries and picked up a comprehensive set of personal and professional skills. After many years in local government I’m excited to bring my experience in senior management and program delivery to the not-for-profit sector.

Best thing about my job

I know what we do here at MMA makes a difference, and I’m proud to be a part of it. Sometimes I can even bring my dog.

Ways I practise mindfulness and/or meditation

20 or more minutes of breathing and meditation as soon as I wake up in the morning. Then straight into the coldest water I can find. Love it.
