This two hour workshop is a deep dive into the how and why of mindfulness, as well as giving participants a chance to experience different forms of classroom-friendly meditations first-hand. You'll gain a thorough understanding of the stress response in the brain based on the latest literature, as well as insights into our own research case study in best-practice implementation for mindfulness and meditation in schools.
An introduction to what mindfulness is and different forms of meditation.
An introduction to the science behind mindfulness and meditation in an easy to follow format.
You’ll have the chance to participate in various meditation techniques and learn a range of mindfulness activities which can be used for personal or classroom use.
An introduction to using MMA’s teaching and learning materials or curriculum. The materials are written for primary to year 10 students and can be adapted for years 11 and 12.
Based on our 2016 research project, you’ll learn how a Tailored Whole School Approach to mindfulness enables schools and participants to plan, develop, implement and evaluate mindfulness across the whole school.
The next step after this introductory workshop is to attend our full day of training, or bringing MMA into your school to train your leadership team, or the entire staff. If you attend an additional MMA public course, we will happily subtract the cost of this training off any future ticket sale.
